Bahrain North
During CTL: Eastbound 2025, the Bahrain North Sector will be responsible for accepting traffic going through two streams. Stream A:
- Traffic arriving into OBBI: The stream landing in Bahrain will be handed off from Kuwait Radar to Bahrain North Lower, who must ensure that traffic reach LONOS at FL330 or below (Although it is preferred to keep them at or below FL310 on an odd level). The next handoff will be from Bahrain North Lower to Bahrain Approach who will expect traffic to be at an altitude of 12,000ft by KOBOK at a speed of 210kts. However, in coordination with Bahrain Approach, traffic may be kept as high as FL180 in order to extend track miles for sequencing within the TMA.
- Traffic en-route to OMAA: The stream landing into Zayed Intl. will be handed off from Kuwait Radar to Bahrain North Higher (OBBB_3_CTR), or if offline, Bahrain Radar Bandbox (OBBB_1_CTR). No descents are to be given to these traffic. Their expected route within the OBBB FIR is LONOS P708 GESIT.
Callsigns:
- OBBB_3
- OBBB_N
During CTL: Eastbound 2025, sectors North Higher, Central Super and East Higher will be controlled by OBBB_1_CTR, with descends given only to traffic bound to OTHH and northern airports in the OMAE FIR.
- Traffic inbound to OTHH must descend FL290 by DEKTA and kept at FL230 or below by GIRMO.
- Airports in the north of the OMAE FIR include: OMDB, OMDW, OMDM, OMSJ, OMRK and OMFJ.
- Airports in the south of the OMAE FIR should not be provided descents (e.g OMAA, OMAL, OMAD and OMAM).
Controllers are asked to review the LOAs regarding descents into the OTDF and OMAE FIR's here.
